WHITE TWP., NJ [October 13, 2004] – The Warren County Freeholders proclaimed Oct. 23-31 to be “Red Ribbon Week” to raise awareness of alcohol, tobacco and drug abuse issues, and to promote family and individual responsibility for living a healthy, drug-free lifestyle. Robert Frankenfield (second from left), chairman of the county’s Local Advisory Committee on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse, said the Red Ribbon campaign symbolizes the commitment and solidarity between educators, law enforcement and families to combat substance abuse. With Frankenfield are (l-r) Freeholders Richard Gardner, John DiMaio and Everett Chamberlain. Red Ribbon Week also honors the memory of Drug Enforcement Agent Enrique Camarena, who was assassinated in Mexico by a drug cartel in 1985, and honors the hundreds of prevention workers in Warren County whose efforts are on the front line in fighting substance abuse.
